The Silverstone Festival signed off on a high as this year’s event was its last. But it didn’t hold them back as they marked it with a spectacular tribute to 75 years of Formula 1. The celebration paid homage to where it all began on 13 May 1950 at Silverstone, the birthplace of the championship.
One of the most remarkable highlights was an unprecedented showcase featuring a Formula 1 car representing each of the 34 World Champions — a first in motorsport history.
Adding to the milestone displays, again another first, the festival also gathered cars from all 10 British World Champions, along with unique tributes to father-and-son World Championship duos Damon and Graham Hill, and Nico and Keke Rosberg.
Among the cars included in the display were BRM cars, including the BRM P160 once driven by Niki Lauda and Graham Hill’s legendary P578, affectionately known as “Old Faithful.”
